Johnson County to receive Waterline Project
August 13, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) -- The Department for Natural Resources’ Division of Abandoned Mine Lands (AML) announced today the commencement of construction for the Butcher Hollow Water Supply Project for Johnson County. Little Creek Construction has been awarded the project contract with a low bid of $382,033, with Sisler-Maggard Engineering providing engineering inspection services. On-site construction will begin August 17 with a projected completion date of January 2010.
Governor announces grant for Fulton housing revitalization
Fulton, KY - August 13, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) -- Gov. Steve Beshear today presented the city of Fulton with a $1 million Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for a scattered site housing rehabilitation project targeting low income, disabled, and elderly homeowners within the city limits.Fulton will use the grant to address at least 13 houses that have been inspected and determined to be beyond repair, requiring demolition and reconstruction. The dilapidated units will be rebuilt on their existing properties and temporary housing will be provided for the residents during the rehabilitation process
Rogers: $500,000 Approved for New Somerset Blood Center
July 31, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) -- U.S. Congressman Harold “Hal” Rogers (KY-05) announced that the House of Representatives has approved $500,000 for the Kentucky Blood Center (KBC) to construct a new blood storage and donor service center in Somerset. Rogers secured these critical funds in the FY 2010 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Bill to strengthen the available blood supply for emergencies in southern and eastern Kentucky. The bill passed the House on July 23, 2009, and awaits Senate action later this year.
