Congressman Brett Guthrie Announces Grant for Bowling Green-Warren County Regional Airport
Washington, DC – July 7, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) announced today that the Bowling Green-Warren County Regional Airport is being awarded a grant worth $2,000,000 from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
“This is great news for Bowling Green,” Congressman Guthrie said. “As a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and its Aviation Subcommittee, I am pleased that the FAA recognized the needs of this growing airport. It is important that they have the necessary resources to continue improving the facility and serving the aviation needs of Bowling Green and the surrounding area. I congratulate them on receiving this grant.”
The competitively awarded grant will be used to rehabilitate a runway by overlaying and strengthening the pavement.
“We were very excited to receive this news from Congressman Guthrie today,” Rob Barnett, Bowling Green-Warren County Regional Airport manager, said. “Improving this runway has been a high priority project in our master plan for quite some time. This will make our airport an even greater asset to the region.”
