Attorney General Conway Announces Rocket Docket Grants of $1.2 Million for Prosecutors

Attorney General Jack Conway and members of the Prosecutors Advisory Council today announced that 18 Commonwealth's Attorneys Offices and 26 County Attorneys Offices across the Commonwealth have been selected for funding to implement, expand, or enhance "Rocket Docket" programs. Rocket Docket programs are a collaborative program between the local Commonwealth's Attorney and the local County Attorney to expedite cases through the judicial system.

Whitfield Announces More than $2.8 Million in Federal Grants for Area Airports

U.S. Representative Ed Whitfield (KY-01) is pleased to announce grants to three area airports from the Federal Aviation Administration through the U.S. Department of Transportation. The Russellville-Logan County Airport will receive $2,050,000.  The grant will provide federal funding for thefinal phase to extend Runway 06 by 500 feet to meet the operational needs of the airport.

State Property Tax Rate Unchanged for 2015

The Kentucky Department of Revenue has set the 2015 State Real Property Tax Rate at 12.2 cents per $100 of assessed value. Kentucky Revised Statute 132.020 requires the Department of Revenue to set the real property rate no later than July 1 of each year.

Statement from Attorney General Jack Conway

"Today, as a result of a lawsuit filed by my office and 22 other states, the United States Supreme Court ruled that the EPA acted unreasonably when it failed to consider costs in developing a new regulation that would have required existing power plants to retrofit their systems at great expense to Kentucky ratepayers and businesses. These regulations would have raised utility rates and cost Kentucky jobs.

Twelve Certified Local Government (CLG) grants totaling $86,448 have been awarded to nine communities for historic preservation-related activities, according to the Kentucky Heritage Council/State Historic Preservation Office (KHC).
