Governor Announces Additional Mortgage Help for Active Job Seekers
FRANKFORT, KY - October 1, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- Gov. Steve Beshear, along with Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC) Chief Executive Officer Richard L. McQuady, today announced that Kentucky will receive additional funding from the U.S. Treasury Department to help unemployed and underemployed homeowners pay their mortgages as they seek work. Kentucky originally expected to receive $55.6 million, but received notification today that that state will receive an additional $93.3 million for a total of $148.9 million.

FRANKFORT, KY - August 11, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- Gov. Steve Beshear, along with Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC) Chief Executive Officer Richard L. McQuady, today announced that Kentucky will share $2 billion in federal assistance to help unemployed and underemployed homeowners pay their mortgages as they seek work, along with 16 other states and the District of Columbia. Kentucky is eligible for this assistance as a result of having sustained unemployment rates at or above the national average during the last 12 months.
First Lady Celebrates Ribbon Cutting for Recovery Kentucky Center
OWENSBORO, KY - May 19, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- First Lady Jane Beshear, along with Department for Local Government (DLG) Commissioner Tony Wilder and Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC) Chief Executive Officer Richard L. McQuady, participated in a ribbon-cutting event today for Owensboro Regional Recovery, Ltd., one of ten recovery centers that works to reduce the state’s drug and homelessness problems. Owensboro Regional Recovery, Ltd., will provide counseling, support, and hope for up to 100 men at a time who are recovering from drug and alcohol addiction.

Governor Announces Homelessness Prevention and Housing Program Funding
FRANKFORT, KY - September 24, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) -- Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear, along with Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC) Chief Executive Officer Richard L. McQuady, today announced the recipients of Kentucky’s Housing and Emergency Assistance Reaching The Homeless (KY HEARTH) Program grant funds. This initiative is part of the national American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 and the federal Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program. Lexington, Louisville and Covington received direct allocations. KHC administers the balance of the state’s portion.KY HEARTH helps prevent individuals and families from becoming homeless and helps those who are experiencing homelessness to be quickly re-housed and stabilized. Through the ARRA, 47 projects proposed by nonprofit agencies and local governments across the state are receiving a total of $11,607,352 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Gov. Beshear Announces New Homelessness Prevention and Housing Program

McQuady, and Kentucky Interagency Council on Homelessness (KICH) Chair Kentucky Sen. Gerald Neal, today announced that Kentucky has applied for more than $18.5 million for a new program to provide rental assistance and services to prevent people from becoming homeless and to help those who are experiencing homelessness.
