FRANKFORT, KY – November 9, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — Governor Steve Beshear today congratulated Richard Moloney on his new post as the Chief Administrative Officer in the administration of Lexington Mayor-elect Jim Gray.  Moloney serves as the Governor’s Commissioner for Housing, Building, and Construction.

“Commissioner Moloney has been an important part of modernizing and improving the Housing, Building and Construction program in our state,” Gov. Beshear said.  “Richard adopted modern management principles and combined them with good, old-fashioned respect for employees and customers, and we are deeply grateful for his service.”

During Moloney’s tenure, he reduced the turn-around time for plan reviews in the building inspection office from 70 to 14 days; and cross trained employees in the building inspection and fire marshal divisions.

“These skill sets that have served my administration so well will serve the City of Lexington well too. Richard’s selection reflects well on the outstanding administrative team we have built in Frankfort,” added Gov. Beshear.  “We all wish him well.”

Moloney will remain as Commissioner through the end of the calendar year; the search for his replacement will begin immediately.
