Rogers Votes to Block EPA Water Rule
U.S. Rep. Harold 'Hal' Rogers (KY-05) cosponsored and voted for the Regulatory Integrity Protection Act of 2015 (H.R. 1732) as the bill passed the full House on Tuesday, May 12. The bill reverses a rule proposed by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in April 2014 to redefine the "Waters of the United States" through the Clean Water Act, expanding the agency's jurisdiction to include dry beds and other areas that are "seasonal or rain-dependent."

Whitfield Secures Over $257 Million for Continued Cleanup of Paducah DOE Site in House...
U.S. Rep. Ed Whitfield (KY-01), Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Energy and Power, today announced that he secured over $257 million for the continued cleanup efforts at the Paducah Department of Energy (DOE) site. The funding was included as part of the Fiscal Year 2016 Energy and Water federal spending bill. Additionally, Whitfield was successful in obtaining language in the committee report urging the DOE to develop a long term acquisition strategy at the site

Whitfield Announces Nearly $263,000 Grant for Murray Fire Department
U.S. Rep. Ed Whitfield, (KY-01), Chairman of the Subcommittee on Energy and Power, today announced Murray Fire Department will receive $262,858.00 grant award by the Federal Emergency Management Agency in cooperation with the U.S. Fire Administration. This award is made under the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program and will be used to purchase new air packs and air tanks for the fire department's firefighters.

Housing discrimination is uniquely damaging in that it takes away a person’s sense of safety in his or her own home. It is important that all of us as responsible members of society remain vigilant in addressing both the blatant and subtle forms of housing discrimination that tear at the national fabric.
