Kentucky Interagency Council on Homelessness to Meet

WASHINGTON, D.C. – January 20, 2014 – (RealEstateRama) — The Kentucky Interagency Council on Homelessness Steering Committee will hold a regularly scheduled meeting at 10 a.m., ET, on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, in Kentucky Housing Corporation’s west annex, 1231 Louisville Road, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601.

The Kentucky Interagency Council on Homelessness is composed of representatives of nine key state agencies, as well as consumers, advocacy organizations, service providers, and other relevant federal, state, and local agencies, to facilitate collaboration to address the needs of the state’s homeless and work to alleviate homelessness. Its duties include serving as the single statewide homeless planning and policy development resource, updating Steps Toward Ending Homelessness, overseeing implementation of the Steps Toward Ending Homelessness, and serving as a state clearinghouse for information on services and housing options for the homeless. Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC) is the designated administering agency and provides staff support to assist the council in carrying out its mission.

The Kentucky Interagency Council on Homelessness (KICH) is committed to engaging the state’s leadership to forge partnerships among state agencies, service providers and advocacy groups that enable all Kentucky communities to achieve local solutions to ending homelessness. By Executive Order 2007-751 of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, KICH is composed of representation from state government, nonprofit and advocacy agencies.

Kentucky Housing Corporation, the state’s housing finance agency, provides administrative support to KICH. These two organizations work closely with homeless service providers and other agencies who dedicate time and resources to ending homelessness in Kentucky.
