Kentucky Business Portal Wins National Award

WASHINGTON, D.C. – September 28, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — The Kentucky Business One Stop Portal received a prestigious national award on Sept. 25 in New Orleans in recognition of the portal’s outstanding applications and infrastructure, Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes announced.

“Kentucky’s One Stop Business Portal is a national leader in increasing efficiency for both businesses and government agencies,” said Grimes, Kentucky’s chief business officer. “I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished these past four years, expanding and improving available services, and our team is extremely deserving of this honor.”

The award was given by the Center for Digital Government, a national research and advisory institute on information technology policies and best practices in state and local government.

In 2014 the Portal won the Best IT Collaboration Among Organizations Award at the Kentucky Digital Government Summit. That award was given to an individual or organization that demonstrated special, coordinated efforts on technological projects, data sharing and other governing initiatives.

The Kentucky Business One Stop Portal, www.onestop.ky.gov, was originally created in 2011 to simplify and streamline business interactions with different government agencies. It is a partnership of the Office of the Secretary of State, the Finance and Administration Cabinet, the Cabinet for Economic Development and the Commonwealth Office of Technology. Kentucky is one of only 11 states with a one stop business portal.
