At Lowe’s In Pikeville, Learn To Protect Your Home From Flooding
FRANKFORT, KY - June 10, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) — For the next two weeks, specialists are in the Pikeville, Ky., Lowe’s store to advise Kentuckians about flood-resistant building and rebuilding techniques and flood insurance.
Representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will provide resources and information on topics that include how to clean up mold and mildew, elevation of appliances and wiring to avoid flood water, flood-resistant construction materials and the National Flood Insurance Program.
The specialists are at Lowe’s Store 0435, 183 Cassady Blvd., Pikeville, daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., from June 10-June 24.
Officials continue to urge anyone with disaster-related losses who has not yet registered for assistance to do so by calling 800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY 800-462-7585. The phone numbers are staffed seven days a week, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. until further notice. Help in all languages is available. Anyone with Internet access may register at all times at www.DisasterAssistance.gov.
FEMA leads and supports the nation in a risk-based, comprehensive emergency management system of preparedness, protection, response, recovery, and mitigation, to reduce the loss of life and property and protect the nation from all hazards including natural disasters, acts of terrorism, and other man-made disasters.
